Hotel 63 is run as a Registered Society, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and managed by a Board of Directors of nine elected shareholders.
As a hotel, now a gracious old lady of 70, but with a history dating back some 150 years, Hotel 63 is a property with expensive needs for maintenance, upkeep and upgrading. As well as supporting this lovely boutique hotel by using the accommodation and other facilities, there is the opportunity to support the fundraising activities of the 500 and 2000 Clubs, whose additional income for 63 is very much appreciated.

The Platinum Appeal
The seventieth anniversary of the purchase of Hotel 63 by Soroptimists seemed a fitting time to launch a new appeal for funds to support the future of our Residential Club. The Platinum Appeal, launched on 29 November 2018, invites shareholders and supporters to contribute to the refurbishment of our iconic property, through interest free loans for a fixed five year period after which they will be repaid, donations and legacies. The funds raised will be used to further upgrade and improve bedrooms and public areas.
Alongside the Appeal, a booklet was launched, highlighting the history of the building and especially the 70 years of service by Soroptimists and friends. The booklet was researched and compiled by Director of Marketing and Communications Liz Batten, assisted by many past Chairmen and committee members. The booklet is available at a cost of £5.00 from Number 63 Reception and at the Number 63 (Soroptimist) Ltd Annual General Meetings, Federation Conferences and at Regional Meetings.

Since 2003 more than £500,000 has been left in bequests to Hotel 63 which has been a tremendous help in funding refurbishment and updating of facilities.
